What happens when you mix a Pug and a Bichon? Tarin! Four month old Tarin came into BARK last week from an overcrowded shelter in Iowa. She has found her forever home and is our first official B.A.R.K. adoption! Congratulations to Pat on the new member of their family!
Renegade finally found his perfect home with Shelly in Wisconsin! Renegade was our first B.A.R.K. dog to be accepted into the rescue and was a foster favorite. Have fun with him Shelly!
Thank you Moreno family! Buzz was our shy sweetie with the porcupine face. We're so glad he found his new home so fast!
Our first pet adoption event at the Chaska Petco proved to be a success for Sadie the Saint Bernard and her new family. She has a new human brother AND a new dog brother! What a lucky girl!
Our shy guy Eddie selected his new family very quickly at the adoption day. Thank you to the Aplin's for giving Eddie his very own boy!
Potter was our feisty little Corgi rescued from a shelter in west central MN. Thank you Christine for understanding the special Corgi attitude and giving Potter a great new home!
Yankee, now renamed "Tucker", was the perfect foster dog in every way. He was only one day away from being euthanized in Tennessee and made the 20 hour trip home to MN, quietly cuddled on the passenger seat! The O'briens are the perfect home for this 1 in a million dog and we know they will love him as much as we did!
UPDATE on "TUCKER" 11-02-09
Hi Kelly everything is great. Tucker is everything we hoped for he is lying by my feet as I am typing. He loves everyone and we all love him. The boys friends think he is awesome. He has not gotten into any trouble he minds ,does not get in garbage or anything. He is probably one of the easiest dogs we have ever had. He is so quiet he hardly makes any noise walking around. He is funny a real character...
He will not leave me alone when I return from work until I sit and cuddle him for awhile. I love it too. He will sometimes just sit and stare at me tell I let him up on my lap, he even wants to sit on my lap when I am at the computer...He has been microchipped and registered so we can get him back if he were to get separated from us. We are his forever family and he is seeming to get less afraid of getting left behind as time goes on...
He is a wonderful addition to our family I am so happy he was rescued. Thank you again for your part.-- Mary Jo
Here are the lucky new parents of our sweet Dora! Dora, a dog of probably many breeds, was on the brink of being euthanized but was transported to her MN foster home just in time. Dan and Cheryl were having some difficulties finding a dog but finally found the perfect little dog right here! Thank you for continuing to spoil this darling girl!
UPDATE on "Zoey" 12-12-09
(We received WONDERFUL pictures and a very nice card from "Zoey's" new family! Just in time for Christmas! Thank you!)
Zoey likes to look out the sliding glass doors to the back yard area. When she sees the geese in the open area next to our side backyard, she loves to run up to our fence and they all fly away. I think it makes her feel like a really big dog! Zoey comforted Dan after his knee replacement surgery, We cannot thank you enough, She is the best! She's really sweet and a great lap dog! We hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! -- Dan, Cheryl, and Zoey
Browser, named for his fantastic eyebrows, found a home at our first Indoor Dog Park adoption event. Thanks to Tonia and family!
After much deliberation, Monica was chosen from the crowd as the Becker's newest addition! Springer spaniel "Abbie" will have a new little sister to entertain!
Thank you Berg Family! Mario will have years of fun in your home. Enjoy!
Bella the purebred Weimaraner was a pampered house dog for 6 years when her family decided to leave her at the shelter. Sometimes for an older dog, that can be a death sentence, especially since she needed surgery. Lucky for Bella, she was brought to her brand new foster dad who wasn't really sure he even wanted a dog but who agreed to help B.A.R.K. (and Bella) until she was healed and adopted...she never left. Thanks Kev. :-)
FINALLY! Bruno's forever family found him after being in foster care for over 8 months! We couldn't be happier, the Walls are his perfect home!
UPDATE on Bruno:
Hi Kathy and Shelia,
We just wanted to thank you again for Bruno! He had a great trip home. We stopped off to visit his new "Auntie Diane" in Elko, who had a doggie sweater waiting for him. Right now he is sitting with the girls watching the Miss America pageant. He seems to be enjoying it. Or maybe it is the Cheetos the girls have been feeding him. We are sending a picture of him lounging in JT's chair modeling his new sweater. He and Max are doing well together.
Sprout (renamed "Spirit")found Kim at the Dog City Dog Park rescue round-up! Out of all those dogs and rescue groups Sprout was able to weasel her little terrier body into Kim's arms! Thanks Kim, enjoy our little diva!
Patrick went home to a wonderful family at our Richfield Petsmart Adoption Event! They loved him, quirks and all! We all hope you enjoy this gorgeous guy!
Our darling little Rebecca (now named Nala) also went home on the same day as her sister Skittles! She joins a big brother "Rambo" in her new home and is getting a lot of love and attention!
Mason is certainly a lucky dog! He is Matthew's first dog and they will learn so much together. We will miss Mason's goofy sweet personality but we're so glad he found his forever home!
Chloe found her perfect forever home with Krystal and Adam-a great couple who will have many years of happiness with Chloe in their family!
UPDATE on "Chloe":
Hi there-
I just wanted to write and tell you what a wonderful dog Chloe is! She came home with us a little over a month ago and she fits right into our family. She is a total sweetheart, loves to cuddle and is so playful and happy! We do daily walks which is the highlight of her day - she walks well on a leash and is so eager to please. We've started clicker training with her and she already knows sit, drop, stay, shake and we're working on roll over. She's such a smart girl! We can't thank you enough for letting her come home with us and become a part of our family. We can't imagine life without her now - she's our baby girl! I've attached a few pictures of her in her new forever home!
Thank you!

Stormy our little Pit Tornado went home forever at our Como Zoo Adoption Event! Stormy is a wonderful puppy who will grow into a wonderful dog with his new family!
Our quiet, sweet, and shy girl Zurrie traveled all the way from Missouri to find her special ladies at the Como Zoo! Enjoy her, she's wonderful!
Sophie was our typical black lab foster dog. So hard to adopt because she appeared to be "common". She grew up in shelters and foster care from the time she was 3 months old and celebrated her first birthday in foster care. It turns out she was just waiting for her perfect family to stop in at the Como Zoo event and take her home! Her new little girl was an excellent dog trainer that day and Sophie loved her right away! Congrats Sophie, watch over your family well!
UPDATE on "Sophie":
Hello,
Just wanted to give you an update on Sophie.
We adopted Sophie on September 18th, so it has been just over a month.
She is a very gentle, loving, and protective dog. She no longer barks at
the sight of the cat, only at people that come to the house. We are not
sure where she slept during the night while in foster care, but she
prefers the sleep on the bed, in the middle, with her body stretched out
as long as she can make it. We have never seen a dog so comfortable. As
soon as she is laying down, she falls asleep - and snores! She doesn't
move until morning. Our 7 year old daughter has been playing ball with
her. Sophie will bring the ball back - most of the time - and is very
gentle in giving up the ball. Brian is thinking of training her for
hunting.... We are very pleased with Sophie. She has great character and energy! She fits in perfect. Thank you very much! Brian, Janet, & Sadie

Thunder was the last of the "8 pack of Pit Babies" to go home. His foster home loved him so much they knew they couldn't let him go unless the perfect family arrived! Just days away from becoming "foster failures" and keeping Thunder forever, the Campbell family contacted B.A.R.K.! Foster care is hard...especially with puppies as perfect as Thunder. But it was very easy to see how happy he was when he was placed into the loving arms of these three wonderful young ladies who will spoil him rotten and love him forever! Thank you Campbells, we know you will love him like we do!
UPDATE on "Thunder":
Hello. He had a good night sleep in a HUGE kennel right by Ebony's bed. Lots of playing ball in the back yard and in the house. We learned this morning he is afraid of the soccer ball unless he is chasing it! It was the first bark we heard out of him...at a soccer ball:) He is doing great and we have you to thank for loving him so much in the beginning.
Now he is just relaxing with me today until the girls and daddy get home then it is time for more playing and meeting the neighbor dog.
Have a great day!Thunder starts puppy classes on November 3rd!!

UPDATE on "Thunder" November 5th:
Hi Kelly,
Were doing great and Thunder is awesome! He has a great friend right next door who he plays a lot with everyday. Her name is Bella and my husband calls her Thunders girlfriend. She waits and barks for him at the edge of the lawn. I will send a little video clip of the sneak attack he performs every time she is waiting outside:)
Thank you so much for saving him and loving him until we were ready and found him.
Julia
